Pastor's Notes
back to Pastor's Notes IndexIn his book "A Better Way To Live", Og Mandino freatures 17 rules for better living. I would like us to consider his rule #10.
"Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."
The idea is to live every day as if it's the only one you will ever have and to treat everyone you meet as if this were the only day they would ever have. Consider the effect that following that simple rule would have on our relationships. We would be more considerate, caring and tender hearted than ever before. Perhaps, it just might enable us to follow the admonitions found in the book of Ephesians.
And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 AMPC
May The Lord use us to bless others as we strive to serve Him.
